Hundreds of Government, Semi-Government, and private sectors engaged in an island-wide strike demanding the immediate resignation of the President, Prime Minister, and the Government. The Teachers ‘principals’ Trade Unions Collective, Sri Lanka Grama Niladhari Association, the United Trade Union Alliance, the Inter-Company Employees Union, Bankers trade union and the Center for Labor took to the streets in protests across the island.
