Description : Maria, a 12 year old girl from a poor Afghan family, cries at a market place for the hardship of scavenging and taunts of a passerby saying she is shameless to roam the street like a beggar. Her father left them and her mother cannot afford her schooling. She helps her mother by collecting garbage for cooking fuel. At ?Aschiana?, she attends art classes, plays basketball and receives an afternoon meal. This NGO serves children who live or work on the streets, in the Shash Darak neighborhood of Kabul, Afghanistan.
