Description : A fisher man caught spotted snakeheads, locally known as Taki maach, a type of fish that thrives in polluted water, from the river Buriganga. He says, ?It is not difficult to sell these fishes. Water is polluted, but not fish. They are fresh from the river. When you eat, you can see fresh and white meat?. The Buriganga, one of the major rivers in Bangladesh, is severely polluted. About 80% sewage of Dhaka city is released directly into the river daily making its water pitch black and gluey. Thousands of people who live on the bank of the river continue to use this highly contaminated water from river to wash, bath and even to drink. Dhaka, Bangladesh.
